Based in the Santa Clara Valley near San Jose, California, Frank Longay was one of the pioneers of the Suzuki Guitar movement. A pedagogue of international renown, Frank was a SAA-registered teacher-trainer and chaired the Guitar Committee of the Suzuki Association of the Americas. If you're at all curious about learning more about the Suzuki Method for classical guitar, then you really should pay a visit to the Longay Conservatory of Guitar. Frank's gone now, but the legacy he left us was a powerful one.
This is the Web-home of the association to which Paul and all his Suzuki colleagues belong. Interested in doing some teacher-training? Looking to take your family to an institute this summer? Check out the SAA Institute Listings! If you're simply checking around for more information on Suzuki (the man or the method named for him), then this is a great place to start.
Manitoba is home to some fine instrument builders, Daryl Perry and Fred Casey among them. Australia has its own fair share of fine luthiers, among whose ranks Lance Litchfield has earned a place. Paul has enjoyed owning and playing guitars made by each of these gentlemen, all of whom are passionate about their craft and are deeply sensitive to the needs of their clients.
...Check out the goings-on in the career of a long-time friend of Paul's: Heather is a singer/songwriter based in Calgary, where she's been turning some heads with her clever writing and wonderful voice.
MARIA is an organization that exists for the support and promotion of Manitoba recording artists. A browse through the site is highly recommended if you're looking to book Manitoba Musicians.
Visit Paul's undergraduate Alma Mater and current workplace. For many years, Brandon University has enjoyed a well-earned reputation as one of the premier music schools in Western Canada. While the majority of the curriculum is geared to the undergraduate, there is a strong Master's of Music Ed. program with a growing international reputation, to say nothing of its Masters program in Performance (Piano and Strings). Brandon University Music graduates are numerous in primary and secondary music programs in the Prairie Provinces, and in professional orchestras, opera companies, and private teaching studios all across North America. On top of that, the School seems to attract down-to-earth and decent folks: be sure to say Hi to Heather, Joyce, and Terry, the secretarial staff. Give your regards to Dr. Michael Kim, our Dean of Music.
The EGCM is home to the Brandon Suzuki Talent Education Program, a wonderful children's choral program under the direction of Elizabeth Grant, and many of the finest vocal and instrumental instructors in Manitoba.
Located on the South Bank of the Brisbane River - The focal point of Paul's Australia Experience.
Want to get away from it all for a couple of weeks and study your instrument at the highest possible level? This is an awesome place to do it!
